Back in Februar2020, Sony announced plans to release the Xperia Pro model. On January 26, 2021, the professional videographer-oriented device went on sale in the U.S.
The smartphone is equipped with an HDMI input with type D connection, as well as an OLED display with 4K resolution and HDR support. It can be connected to a camera and used as an external monitor.
Thanks to the 4K resolution, the smartphone will provide better control over the image when shooting.
Importantly, the Xperia Pro is fully compatible with the Sony Alpha family of cameras, including the Alpha 7S III. The smartphone can also be used for live streaming with image capture from the matrix of the connected camera.
This is an important advantage considering that Xperia Pro is capable of working in 5G networks. The device also has support for mmWave with an enhanced set of antennas and special software to control connectivity in fifth-generation networks.
On the back, which is made of plastic, triple camera unit with 12-megapixel main module, as well as the front camera with a resolution of 8 megapixels.
On board is last year’s Qualcomm Snapdragon 865. The device also gets 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal memory with memory card support.
Among other things: water and dust protection under the IP68 standard, the presence of stereo speakers, 4000 mAh battery and Android 10.
The official price of the device – $2,499 or just over 187,000 rubles. Sony Xperia Pro is available for sale in the United States.
On Jan. 26, Sony also announced a new full-frame mirrorless camera Alpha 1, which will begin sales in March in North America at a price of $ 6,500 or about 488,000 rubles.
The Alpha 1 combines high resolution and high speed at a level never before achieved in the world of digital cameras. The company calls it a technologically advanced and innovative product.
